This Pearl has been grown in the Australian Pinctada Maxima Pearl Shell.  These Pearls are a "half pearl" that has formed from a shell shape purposely placed inside the shell.  After many months of cultivating the Pearl is then cut from the Shell and then carefully placed into beautiful settings. Hence, the Mabe Pearl is born!
