Shell Pearls Jewellery

These Pearls are Shell Pearls - they are man made -  they are not a Cultured Pearl, although they are very beautiful and perfectly round and very hardy (Note: pls look after them like a Cultured Pearl ie no perfume, chemicals or chlorine).

Shell Pearls are made from the same components as a cultured pearl however, it does not take two years!  The substance is ground to a fine powder, shaped, dyed and coated with natural pearl nacre and then a protective coating to give the pearl it's lustre.  The Bead interior is also made from shell, giving the pearl the same weight feel as that of a cultured pearl.

They are surprisingly very hardy and can have a long lifespan as long as they are not subjected to chemicals. They do not scratch like a plastic bead.

They also come in lots of different sizes and colours ranging from 8mm - 16mm. They are a fantastic way to show off the "Big Pearl" look at a fraction of the cost of a "Big" Cultured Pearl.
